Equity Research Associate

Cold emailed the senior analyst who forwarded my résumé to the hiring director for Equity Research. Phone interview was scheduled shortly after the initial contact between the Hiring Director and myself. Mostly fit, asked what my current role is (not ER), no state of the market questions, no technicals. Asked for a favorite stock that I followed (wasn't expecting a stock pitch in the initial interview) so I gave a rough one. I asked about her background and how she got to her current position from being a Research Associate.

Overall it was a good experience. The Hiring Director said she liked me a lot and really liked my passion about ER, unfortunately I didn't have quite enough experience nor was it the right experience. She was very upfront about this which I appreciated. Turns out they needed an immediate plug and go to fill the position and I was "too green". You win some, you lose some.
