Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I interviewed for the FIG group specifically. Mainly because I worked in FIG the past summer at a boutique bank.

I got in touch with a college alumni who was a MD and he pushed my resume through. Interview first consisted of a phone screen with HR, a second round interview with 2 associates and 2 VPs. Those were pretty straight forward, focused on your resume, why IBD, why FIG and why our firm. There were also basic technical questions such as how do you calculate WACC, walk me through a DCF, is it cheaper to issue debt or equity and thoughts on the markets. Primarily the Fed interest rates and how increase rates would affect both public and private companies.

I was called in for a superday a day after my last phone interview was concluded. Superday was scheduled 2 weeks ahead. The superday consisted meeting 2 associates, 1VP and 2MDs. The associates were more focused on technical and answered questions you may have about the summer program (important to have questions to ask!). One question that threw me off was a brainteaser and I admit I panicked slightly. The VP and MDs were more focused on why banking, our firm and why should we choose? So general behavioral. Very important to know about their deal flow! Ask about it.

In the end I was told they have moved on and I have not received an offer. No feedback.
