Interview Details

Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I come from a non-target so my process was a little unconventional. Due to connections at Goldman I was immediately invited for a super day. The super day was three back to back thirty minute interviews with mostly VP level. Then they cut out about half of the kids, and there was a final round interview. After this, I had two additional interviews over the phone with MD's.

Overall I was surprised at how easy the questions were. I never got anything technical, and the questions from my stock pitch were rudimentary at best. I have no idea how they can possibly differentiate candidates based upon what was asked. I also felt like I killed every interview and had outstanding connections. Don't be too upset if you don't get it, GIR is one of the most competitive divisions at GS because there are so few spots.

Best of luck.
