Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I visited Credit Suisse's Houston office in November. They were a last minute addition to our Trek, but were happy to be flexible. I found the staff at the Houston office to be more personalbe than the group who showed up on campus. However, during the first round group phone interview, the majority of time was spent addressing my desire to live in Houston. While I can understand the typical questions (why Houston, why Oil/Gas), I felt that this group was far more sensitive to the matter than the other Houston banks. The remaining 10 minutes or so was spent going over technicals, and at that point I was turned off by the prospect of working for CS (Admittedly, they were not toward the top of my list to begin with). Other top-tier Houston banks (both BB and EB) did a far better job of vetting my interest for Energy and Houston without coming off as abrasive.
