Summer Associate Intern

I had an informational interview with an alumni who worked at keybanc in Cleveland but not in the IBD. She referred me to the internship program. I was scheduled a phone interview for about 3 weeks later. The woman who interviewed me was very polite. We went over my resume and talked over my cover letter. She told me during the interview that my lack of finance experience would hurt me in the selection process along with me being a sophomore. Apparently juniors are mostly selected for consideration after graduation. I didn't get an offer, but the interviewer suggested in case I didn't get an offer to get some kind of finance experience for the summer and apply next. Good experience overall, not sugar coated, but led me in a good direction.
