2nd Year Investment Banking Analyst

Applied for a position in the Chicago office - specifically the FIG team and the head of recruiting reached out to me to see if I would be more interested in a local position that would be a second year compensation level instead of entry-level. D.A. is building out their franchise and hired some really top/blue-blood guys for O&G and Construction/Infra in Denver. Had a very lengthy call with the head recruiter and she really went into a deep dive on the story of the firm and its recent growth. Definitely felt a west-coast bias (Pacific NW, Los Angeles) as far as legacy but the Chicago office is large and growing and the Denver office is getting up to speed. Pretty relaxed interview as HR was chatty and friendly - no grilling of techinicals and they offered to set up training courses since July is generally when they have formal training for new hires. Know that they are definitely middle market but still a large organization (1800 headcount). Went in for an in-person locally and same story - very relaxed and definitely a lean team. Can tell the senior directors are all incredibly sharp.
