Interview
A friend who worked there passed along my resume. The head of sales emailed me to set up a quick 20 min phone call to go over the basics and set up a time to come in the office. The in office interview was a one on one interview that started with simple introductions and then a IQ test and a Personality Test. After finishing, the head of sales went over my results w/ me asking questions along the way. We then went over my resume and talked about the job responsibilities, start date, and my interest level. Before long, the ball was in my court w/ an offer to move forward after I thought about it for a week or two.
Interview Questions
There were a lot of weird question on the IQ test and the personality test. They were mostly scenario based questions where your actions in that scenario were your answer. Aside from that I remember a few of the weird or more difficult questions that were asked. The weirdest by far and not something I've ever really thought about was "What type of animal would you be and why?" Then, being new to the industry and Finance in general, I didn't know much about the Fixed Income space so I found this question difficult, "What do you know about Fixed Income or Fixed Income Sales?" Finally, since I've never really wanted to be in sales this was not easy to B.S. "Do you want to be a salesman?"
