I applied online through the firm’s website. Shortly after, I was contacted directly by the Executive Assistant from the New York office to confirm my background details and availability. The communication was straightforward and professional. There were no online tests or assessment centers — the process moved directly to interviews.

I was then invited to a virtual interview with an Associate from the London office. The interview lasted around 45–60 minutes and was conducted online. The conversation started with typical fit questions such as “Walk me through your resume,” “Why M&A?” and “Why a boutique firm?” The interviewer was particularly interested in understanding my previous internship experience, what I actually did on transactions, and how much responsibility I had.

The second part of the interview focused on technical questions. I was asked to explain the main valuation methods, walk through a DCF step by step, and describe the M&A process from start to finish. The questions were focused on fundamentals rather than very advanced technical details. They mainly wanted to see whether I could explain concepts clearly and in a structured way.
