Interview
Submitted my resume through their website. Was contacted to set up phone interview which lasted about 30 with an associate of the firm. I got a follow up email about a day later which outlined a project for me to complete over the weekend. I had to create a 1 page summary of a potential M&A target. It consisted of basic company data (location, divisions, what it did etc.) and some financial information: NI, Current Ratio etc. I was invited to NYC for final round interview but I had already received another offer.
Interview Questions
Walk me through the accounting of a capital lease. This was by far the toughest question. Other than this it was pretty standard fit/technical questions you would expect for an IB interview.

Interview
I first had a phone interview, was asked a variety of behavioral questions, technical questions, and current events questions.

Next was putting together a company profile.

Went to NY for some inperson interviews. First two were mostly behavioral, third was 2 on 1 and mostly technical and current event based, and last one was a mix.
Interview Questions
Example questions: differences between valuation methods, using debt to make an equipment purchase and its effect on the financial statements, LBO analysis. Also asked about what I knew about some big deals going on.

Interview
Had a first round interview over the phone with the director of the New York office. Then had to put together a small presentation about a company they were analyzing as a possible takeover candidate. Then had to pay my own way to New York for 6 more interviews. The first interview (2 on 1) was basically all technical but mostly accounting and a few valuation questions. The next several interviews were mostly behavioral but every person asked at least one technical question.
Interview Questions
A lot of the questions were behavioral such as weaknesses and what I have found to be difficult in the past. What was the biggest risk you have ever taken? Talk about a time you were a leader/follower and how you work in each. Talk about a time when you were busy or had to really work hard.
Technical questions were the typical accounting questions. Depreciation, buying inventory with cash, non recurring items, how to get to free cash flow; things such as that. Also asked about the different techniques of valuing a company and when where and why you would use each. A little more questioning was given on DCF but other techniques were also questioned.

Interview
The interview was standard. Took me through the basic questions such as 'walk me through your resume' and delved deeper on specific points along my resume. Touched on basic technicals like walk me through DCF, Coms, and precedent transactions.
Interview Questions
There wasn't a difficult question. But I ran into trouble when she opened the floor to questions. I asked 'What is your most memorable moment at the firm?'
The interviewer stumbled when I asked this questions and when I asked for feedback, one of their response were that they felt it as if I was interviewing them at the end. I guess it might have been the way I phrased the question. In retrospect, a better way to have phrased it would have been, 'What was the most interesting deal that you have worked on in this firm?'

Interview
1 on 1 interview with senior banker. It was an informal interview focusing on motivation and industry knowledge. The MD was really nice and always ready to help. Great work culture. However, lack of modelling and valuation tasks. Also need to conduct cold-calling from time to time.
Interview Questions
Do you know any recent activities of EuroConsult in the UK?

Ans: heard of their name, but didn't look into their latest movement in the UK.
Do you have any experience in cold-calling?

Ans: no, but my leadership position in university society enhanced my communication skills

Interview
Had initial phone interview consisting mostly of fit, walk me through your resume, some basic technical questions, can't recall what they were. Final round was in person at their offices. Interviewed with six people ranging from analyst to director, one after another. All the interviews were one-on-one. Mix of technical and background/fit/experience questions. All interviews were both technical and fit with the exception of one interview with an analyst that was all technical. Technical questions were not too difficult,--pretty straightforward accounting, and valuation stuff, nothing too tricky. No curve balls, or brain teasers or anything like that. People all seemed very nice, came from very diverse backgrounds, all seemed to enjoy themselves.
Interview Questions
Why might Depreciation be included in COGS rather than listed as a separate line item? I answered that an industrial company would most likely include Depreciation in COGS because fixed assets are directly connected to producing its product.
