Everyone in the fixed income group for wealth management was very polite and appeared deeply academic. Group is pretty small (5-8 people). The interview was like other Evercore interviews I've heard about in which half is about discussing any relevant finance experience, deals and industries you've worked on in the past and your future plans and the other half is solely about fit - how long do you plan to stay at evercore? how do you handle stress? how do you work with teams? how do you deal with difficult clients? describe your organization skills and keen eye of detail. Since evercore is pretty small they want candidates who will be liked by everyone on the team, who are friendly, willing to learn and "pull their own weight" (this is pretty much their unofficial motto)...they also want people who want to stay and grow with the company.
