Summer Analyst

Interviewed on campus after resume drop, with separate processes for M&A and restructuring. On-campus interview was with two alumni and was very technical, with several complex accounting and valuation questions. The interviewers made it a point to dig in to each question to make sure you really understood the concept, rather than just memorized the guide. Also threw in a few tricks like changing assumptions in the middle of questions. Toward the end of the interview things relaxed and transitioned into more of a fit interview. Got the call that night for second rounds in NYC.

Superday consisted of several one-on-one interviews with associates and VPs. Questions depended on the interviewers and ran the gamut from very technical to very broad and fit-based. Asked a couple questions about market events and my view of the markets. Very few, very broad bankruptcy-focused questions - focused mainly on traditional IBD interview questions. Dug pretty deep into my previous summer experience and asked technical questions about my time there as well.
