Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Applied online. Received an email from HR to schedule the first phone interview. First interview was a generic screening, seemingly matching the resume to the job description. The same day I got an email, notifying me that there will be follow up phone interviews next week with some directors. First interview was with 2 directors on speakerphone, asking more "screening" questions about your background and product knowledge. Was asked to definite a CDO etc. (Be very concise here, don't go into modeling methodologies yet.) The next interview was with most senior director and talked more about myself, my motivation, why I want to be in structured credit and this: "If someone came up to you at a party and said 'why the hell are you working for credit agencies, they colluded with banks and signed off on toxic products' what would you tell that person?" Took the excel and writing test next day. Excel test is pivots, vlook ups, some if functions, NPV and charting. Writing test is a stock recommendation e.g., write less than 1000 words on APPL. 1 hour for each test.
