Analyst - Public Sector Infrastructure
General Interview Information
Interview Details
I was contacted by HR to set up an interview for 30 minutes. When I spoke to the Head, he was very nice, cordial, and asked me right off the back: "tell me about yourself, walk me through your resume."
I was extremely prepared: New recent transactions, had rehearsed and practiced my "why GS, why IBD, why Public sector".
I spoke for about 5 minutes straight and could hear the Head saying, "uh huh, great, thats what we look for, interesting, makes sense". After my pitch, he stated that I had a wealth of knowledge about X industry and that I could be a real asset. He then asked me if I was interested in any other groups, and I explained that I am open to any opportunities but stated that I wanted to leverage my passion for X and Finance.
He said that it was great to talk to me and that he would push my resume to the hiring group. I was extrememly happy b/c I passed the first screening call.
Unfortunately, the hiring group ended up hiring from within and never interviewed any external candidates.
