I wasn't really interested in applying to finance jobs at the time, but I saw the position on my business school's job board, and I knew Goldman Sachs was prestigious, so I spent two minutes changing the company name in my template cover letter to Goldman Sachos, and clicked the apply button. I got an initial phone interview that consisted of two half hour phone calls with two people on each call. It was basic boring interview stuff...why are you interested in the job? yada yada ...I was invited back for a big MBA interview day in NYC, but I declined, because it conflicted with a consulting interview I actually wanted.
