GIR Summer Analyst

I received an email in December notifying me of an interview. I attend a non-target, so we had a separate Superday from the other target schools. The first interview was in the morning in the Jersey City office. It was a 1 on 1 interview, consisting of the usual "tell me about yourself" and then a stock pitch and a technical question on how the accounting statements flow together. After this interview you had to take a ferry across the river and wait on a phone call to let you know if you made it to the 'second round' interviews in the afternoon at 200 West. I moved on to the second round, which consisted of two 30 minute back to back interviews. These weren't necessarily harder but they were more detailed. Anything you bring up in the interview or anything that's on your resume -- be prepared to talk about it with your interviewer. If you say something, be able to back it up. There were a lot of "why" and "are you sure" and "what makes you say that" in these second round interviews. I had no brainteasers. Buying the WSO guides was tremendously helpful.
