Intern
General Interview Information
Interview Details
After a couple of weeks, I was selected for Superday, which was fully virtual. I had three interviews back-to-back with analysts, associates, and one VP. Each was around 30 minutes and honestly pretty tough.
The technical questions were intense — I was asked to walk through a full DCF, explain the difference between enterprise and equity value, and calculate accretion/dilution in a basic M&A scenario. One interviewer also grilled me on how synergies impact valuation and asked me to pitch a company I think Goldman should acquire.
On the behavioral side, they really tested fit — lots of questions around working under pressure, attention to detail, and whether I’d be okay working long hours. One person asked how I handle burnout or repetitive tasks, which caught me off guard a bit.
Everyone was super professional and clearly sharp, but they didn’t try to intimidate. They wanted to see if I really knew my stuff and could hold a conversation under pressure.
