Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied around september/october for an off-cycle starting september in the next year. My resume wasn't really polished at the time, to it took until february for me to receive an email asking me to complete a hirevue (GS hirevues are selective, if they send you the hirevue it basically means they'll interview you). One week after submitting my hirevue, HR emailed me and gave me a date for 2 in-person interviews around 2 weeks later, which consisted of two interviews lasting 30 minutes each, with two people in each. The fit questions where somewhat classic : TMAY, why GS, why not a boutique, why did you choose to do a dual degree... The technical part was more difficult : first interview they asked me to do a paper LBO, and during the second one we discussed the bridge formula and why specific items such as minority interests, provisions, preferred stocks... were in it. Looking back, the questions weren't that difficult because now I'm more prepared, but at the time I didn't prepare seriously enough.
