Hiring process was not the typical; network and earn your spot on the interview list through events and contacting bankers. I simply applied online and within a few months, I received an email confirmation that I was selected for an interview. I applied from a non-target school, and it was very clear that my interview day was specifically for non-target applicants. The first round interview was very typical and lasted only 30 minutes. Two bankers; one an Associate, the other a VP, and myself. Good cop, bad cop style. Nothing harsh, as is often heard from GS, but all-in-all nerve-wracking.
