Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I connected with a recruiter through an online workshop, and through that convo was referred to an IBD-specific recruiter. I was also introduced (separately) to a VP in IBD by a school alumnus, who (the VP) after speaking with me basically assured me my resume would get seen by the right people.
I received an email about a week prior to my interview (though only a day or two after my convo with the VP), simply saying I was invited to interview with IBD (no mention of group). I was advised by a current employee to reach out and ask what group I would be interviewing with. My recruiter got back to me super quick, which was helpful in honing in on specific news/events to be aware of.
My interview was an hour-long Zoom session. There were three rounds of interviews, 20 minutes each, plus 15 minutes in the waiting room chatting with the other students (where I'm almost positive the recruiting coordinator was watching and taking notes about our interactions).
The first interview was one-on-one with an MD, the second was with two VPS, and the third was with an MD. Aside from a market discussion, "how do you value a stock", and "what is the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic valuation", the interview was highly behavioral.
