Investment Banking Summer Analyst

First round was with an associate from the NY office and the managing director of M&A for the entire western region. The interview was very relaxed and mostly behavioral. Asked about work and club experiences for the majority of the time. Important to know your story and your motivations behind wanting to do banking instead of the other jobs on your resume. They probed that quite a bit, most likely because GS no longer has a 2 year program and wants to retain their analysts.

Got called for a superday the next morning. The superday was scheduled for 2 weeks later. Consisted of 3 rounds of interviews with MDs and VPs (no associates). Very behavioral as well, interviews were similar to the first round, only had 1 technical question about LBOs. Got called later that night saying that they needed more time to decide on me. Finally got the offer 4 days later
