1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I was fast-tracked in my application for a role as a Summer Analyst after good reviews from my two week S&T Spring Programme the year earlier (I haven't heard anything about Spring Programmes online but in the UK they seem to be quite popular). Being fast-tracked meant that I was moved to the final round of interviews (3x 15-20 minute interviews with 1 VP in 1-Delta Equity Sales, an MD in Prime Brokerage and a VP in FX Options).

As you might know, the GS Summer Analyst S&T internships are specific to one desk, which explains the variety in my interviewers. They were all quite easy going interviews and no interviewer asked me any brain teasers. They all seemed to focus around my interest in the markets, with some technical questions, but with everything focused around my own opinions and views. I was asked about my views on cable (USDGBP), interest rates, the macro climate, topical questions about the CHF ceiling set by the SNB, what I thought of QE. Besides things of that nature it was just about my own CV and talking about myself.

I did get the offer, which I accepted. The interviews were much easier than I thought they would be an I wasn't pressured at all to do mental maths or answer any tough brain teasers (as I got very anxious I would) - and all the interviewers were very easy going (not necessarily friendly/smiling/laugh at my jokes - if you know what I mean).
