Technology Analyst

I was a bit surprised when the recruiter asked on the spot to schedule an interview for the next day. I was just passing by and stopped for a short conversation since I didn't have the technical background that they were looking for. During the info night it was clear that most of the audience that was going into that position had some sort of coding experience. In the end, it was hinted that Goldman look more than just skill sets that a candidate could bring to a table. Goldman really puts a lot of emphasis on talent, potential and personality in its recruiting process. The company really wants its employees to grow and succeed on a personal level. The recruiters were very friendly, and gave clear instructions on what to expect. The interview experience was great. It was mostly behavioral questions to get an idea of how you would fit into the company and what your interests are. I found out more about Goldman than I did going into the interview--which may not be a good sign, but I was inspired by the things that I did find out. I was quite disappointed that I did not get the offer, but after having contact with the people that work there, I am happy that I was considered and will aim to be a part of Goldman in the future. I guess my advice after this is that, don't limit your highlights on your skill sets, also let your passion show. I think that might have been what got me the interview in the first place. Be professional, but also be genuine.
