Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Coming from a non-target school the first round was a phone screen which consisted of a review of my resume followed by about 10-15 minutes of technical questions. The technical questions were more in depth conceptual valuation type questions and definitely were not typical of the guide questions. Following the phone interview I was invited for a superday. The superday was four 30 minute interviews. Two with associates, one with a Principal (basically a director), and one with two analysts. Interviews were probably half behavioral half technical with a few case type questions where they give you a written out case and have you solve it in front of them. A good understanding of M&A and merger models is definitely important.
