Summer Analyst

Applied through my school's career site. I got an on campus first round interview. First round was very informal. The person was an MD and asked me to walk him through my resume, that lasted ~20 minutes because he kept asking follow ups about parts of it. Then he asked about my interest in asset management and asked me to describe what I look for in a company. I answered with an example and walked him through my thinking. He then spoke about Guggenheim a lot, he described why it's a different experience and why its better than going to work for a super large place as a Sophomore. That was it.

I got the email asking me to come to their New York office for the super day around 2 weeks after the first round. The position was for LA so I was sort of surprised. I was interviewed by 3 people, 2 VPs and 1 MD. It was very pitch focused and they asked me Why Guggenheim and Why AM in multiple different ways.
I found out about the offer around 2 days after my super day via phone.

I was not very impressed by the process. The time difference between the first and second round was very long and the first round interview was not very structured which gives off a negative vibe for the company. I was also disappointed because I was not interviewed in the office I was going to work at but I guess it makes sense because I go to school on the east coast. The super day was very impersonal and they seemed as though they didn't want to be there.
