Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I was referred to the Senior MD by a colleague. I was fortunate to get an in-person meeting before any phone interviews. I later spoke on the phone and was asked about background and how my experiences can help me contribute to their team. I was asked to come in and my direct superiors asked about my background and short/long term goals in the industry. I was given a pitch deck from previous year and asked to develop the main components that would go into an LBO. Lastly, I remember a question regarding how to input Libor vs. the floor in an excel book and the answer being to use a Max function in the case that LIBOR is smaller than the floor. The interviewers were friendly and did not make you feel uncomfortable but rather cut to the chase regarding whether you will be adding value or not.
