Summer Investment Banking Analyst

Applied through OCR, didn't do any networking so I was surprised to get an interview. I also did not have direct IB experience, but my other experience was very similar/relevant. My GPA was average as well.

I had a 1 on 1 30 minute interview with an Associate. They asked "Why Guggenheim?" and "What do you think I do on a daily basis?". From there, it was all technical.

At the end, the interviewer asked if I had any questions. Didn't move onto the second round, but it was a good learning experience and made other interviews a lot easier. They interviewed almost 20 people for a few superday spots since the LA office is relatively small. Overall, I was caught a little bit off guard considering a lot of the other reviews on here/other websites said the interview was mostly behavioral and the technicals were straight forward.
