The company had really quick turn around in letting me know about next steps/next round. The interviewer was really friendly and gave me advice for the next round. Initial interview lasted about 45 minutes, with the bulk of it being back and forth questions in a conversation style. Company culture was a big highlight.

Interview
The first step was a phone interview, then a one-on-one with an associate, then you are invited to a superday where you interview with HR & two managing directors/principals.
Interview Questions
They were all pretty easy; standard "introduce yourself," "tell me a time when.". Behavioral questions in each round of interviews.

The excel test was elementary; identify a few mistakes in a simple spreadsheet and correct data mistakes. Very minimal (add, subtract.) excel knowledge is necessary.

Interview process was very thought out and easy. HR contacted me about a week after applying for the role then had a phone interview with two associates who had been at the firm for a few years. 2nd round consisted of sending a previous writing sample and with another associate and MD of the research team. Overall, everyone was very nice and responsive. Was not able to make it past the 2nd round.

Interview
The interview was almost entirely based on fit. There was very little in the way of technical assessment besides a short excel test where you try to find errors in a spreadsheet. Interviewers were nice and positive about the company. That said, almost all of them wanted to have life time careers at Hall. I never got much substance from talking to employees though.

Phone Interview
Interview
The interview process started with an online application and I got an email a few days afterwards to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was with an analyst and an associate at the firm. The first round was mostly fit and behavioral questions and about 1-2 technical questions to gauge my interest in financial markets. After the first round, I got an email a few days afterwards to set up the second round phone interview. The second round was with another associate and a VP and this round also had a lot of fit questions but included many more technical questions. Both interviews lasted about 30 minutes. I was not able to make it past the second round.
Interview Questions
A decent chunk of the questions in both of my rounds of the interview process were behavioral and fit questions. This included questions like "Tell us about yourself, Why this position, What are the most important parts of a company's culture, What are your strengths and weaknesses, Time you overcame a hardship, and Do you follow the markets". The more technical questions included were "what are your thoughts on direct vs indirect (portfolio/manager ) investing, how do you best choose and evaluate managers, and how do you research companies?"

Interview
Applied online. Got a first round phone call with two research members with primarily behavioral question. Second round with two senior members of the team.
Interview Questions
Difficult ones that were asked were: What is unique about today's economy and how would you use bonds to navigate it? In addition, the interviewers really asked me about yield curve inversion topics. There were like 4 or 5 different questions back to back just about this one topic. At a certain point, I didn't know enough to keep on answering the questions he was throwing at me.

Unexpected one that was asked was: How much longer do you see this economy and the yield curve inversion lasting.

Interview
The process was three steps, 2 phone screens both two on two and then one "superday" over skype which consisted of four interviews about 30 minutes each.
Interview Questions
All behavioral questions, they will ask you to submit a writing sample, they want to know why you want the job, what your experience has been, a leadership role. If you're switching jobs, why are you switching? I was taking the CFA so they asked me what my favorite section of the CFA was. They will ask you about your personal goals, and what you're interested in doing. I was a little bit frustrated with the process, because after the second round, they stopped responding to my email and then two months later offered a super day.
