Investment Banking Summer Analyst

I dropped my resume online and received a phone interview with an analyst. The phone interview went very well and contained basic fit questions, a few typical basic technical questions, and a mini-case where I was asked to think about possible buyers for a client. The super day took place a week later. There were 3 rounds of 2-on-1 interviews. There was a mix of fit and technical questions. However, the technical questions were very much case-based and open-ended. For instance, I was asked about the long-term viability of one of their clients who had a unique business model. I was slightly unprepared for these types of questions, which I found to be quite challenging. Still, the people I met were all nice and friendly. I definitely got the impression that these guys are the best in the business when it comes to middle market sell-side M&A.
