1st Year Analyst

A current analyst (in a different group) referred me for the position. The VP contacted me once he had my resume to set up 1st round phone interview. The 2nd round was also a phone interview with the analyst in the group. The 3rd round was the super day in the Houlihan offices. Five other candidates were being considered for the position. The super day consisted of an accounting/finance test and five 1-on-1 interviews (approx. 30 minutes each) with the analyst (again), VP (again) and MD of the group as well as an associate and MD of another group. All told, it was six weeks to the day from initial contact to the super day.

1st and 2nd round interviews were truly fit interviews; I'm not sure I was asked a single technical question. The super day was a different story; plenty of fit questions from the three new interviewers as well as a number of technical questions. I received LBO questions in each of the five interviews as well as quite a few technical questions surrounding DCF and WACC.
