Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Strong alumni network in the office allowed initial contact to be seamless. From there, I set up a few phone calls with alumni and they later referred me to their associates for further conversation on the firm, day to day operations, and the culture. The culture is centered around the Big Ten and the college's the staff went to. After initial conversations, I had 2 phone screenings that were centered around school, community involvement, and my past internship experience. Both calls had 10-15 minutes of questions at the end. One week later I had an onsite interview. The superday consisted of 6, 30-minute interviews. Interviews were with Analysts, Associates, and MD's and were all 2 v 1 and 3 v 1. Of the 6 interviews, 2 were technical focused. Their primary focus was on how you might fit into each of their groups - industrials, healthcare, and consumer food. From my understanding, the group had 2 internship spots available with ~ 20 candidates in for their superdays (superdays were held on Thurs & Fri). In completion of the process, I was not extended an offer and I'm certain it was due to one technical question that I was hesitant on..
Overall, the firm was great on their process mainly due to their communication how they sold the firm and its culture. For future candidates, I would put extra emphasis on relating to the other bankers in the office.
