Between the hours of 12:45pm and 4pm today there was a data security breach, resulting in an external entity gaining access to data kept in our primary storage systems. We have not yet confirmed if this data has been copied from the storage and if it is in the hands of those who gained access. This primary storage system includes personal data on Scotiabank employees and clients. We have been proactive and have put low withdraw limits on all Scotiabank accounts to minimize damages while still allowing users access to their accounts.
