IBD Summer Analyst - Coverage

I got my final round HSBC from participating in their Spring Insight week. If you apply online, you will have a telephone interview and I believe there are also online tests although I can't be sure. The first round of interviews were held in September, and there were around 20 of us from the Spring Insight there.

**Activity 1**
The first activity was a case study, which was fairly easy. It included a SWOT analysis and some simple ratio calculations. All information is provided, and you can complete it without knowing what EBITDA etc. is but I would recommend practising before.

**Activity 2**
Group exercise. Here you are asked to each argue your individual case for company expansion and development. There are 2 assessors in the room.

**Activity 3**
Situational judgement interview. The interviewer is really trying to get to know you, so just be yourself and really relax. I had prepared answers that related back to company values, but he didnt want to hear it. Opening question was "tell me about yourself". He was not looking for a walk me through your resume.

**Activity 4**
Business interview. Asked about recent news articles, why HSBC, why IB, how to value a company, what's the definition of free cash flow.
