Summer Investment Banking Analyst

First stage: Applied online, filled in long application form for HSBC. I then did the numerical SHL tests. After a day, I was informed that I had passed the numerical test.

Assessment Centre: I received an invite for the assessment centre and attended.

On the day, there were two elimination stages:
1. Do SHL test again to ensure online scores are consistent with your real ability (you didn't get someone else to help etc. ). People who do not make the minimum cutoff will be eliminated
2. Undergo case study/group discussion about companies
3. Motivational interviews (Why HSBC, what are HSBC's values etc. )
4. After these intervews/case studies, more people were eliminated
5. Two technical interviews in the afternoon, both quite difficult. Some interviewees stated they had the most technical interview out of all the banks they've interviewed at.

Overall, interview lasted from 8 AM to 5:30 PM
