Interview
I had applied to a different role on the company's site, and HR reached out regarding this specific role on the distressed team. It started with an hour long 2-on-1 (all interviews were video) mainly covering my resume/deals while also testing basic technicals and a mental math q thrown in. Second was a 2-on-1 with their two associates covering similar deal related qs and fit. After this, I was given a 6 hour long case study, expected to complete a spread of a company's financials and a 3 page investment write-up on a specific set of bonds. That week, I had 3 1-on-1s with the senior team members, including the group head. I then had a 30 min case debrief with two VPs and a principal. Last item I completed was a 1.5hr modeling test, consisting of basic LBO from scratch and a separate credit specific model (focused on IRR and creation values).

After completing all of these, I did not hear anything back from the team. Overall, maybe 10 hours spent in the process. Most difficult and lengthy interview process I've had to date.
Interview Questions
- very in depth deal oriented questions
- mental math like 52 x 47
- final part of the modeling test was new to me

I submit the application online through an employee referral link. After few days I got the invitation to a first-round interview. It was a group interview and I met with 4 people affiliated with this position. After a week I got the second group interview. It was a case study interview and I was asked to provide business solutions within 30 minutes (+reading time for the prompt). The hiring process is smooth and friendly. HR is very nice and replies on time.
Interview Questions
One of the managers asked a math question during the case study interview, which is not expected.

Interview
I applied online through the job portal on the company website. I received notification of the interview offer and was given a week window to request an interview. The interview occurred over Skype
Interview Questions
The interviewer asked only standard questions, which meant that no question was especially difficult. The interviewer spoke at length about the difficulty of getting a job in this industry and the performance driven aspect of it. At this point, I did not and do not know if he would have preferred that I spoke at greater length about accepting the difficult aspects of the job, but that would have been initiated by me, not a specific questions. In addition, I did not have video on my end and did not know if he did, which was difficult.

I submitted a CV and no online assessment was required. Then I got a phone call to invite me to the1-on-1 interview at the Invesco's office. The questions were basic competencies and no technical/market question was asked.
Interview Questions
The interviewer focused a lot on whether you know their products, eg. what fund was performing well, how was its performance relative to its competitors, what were their investment strategies. You also need to know that the daily tasks of the role involved. Since I was interviewing for equity sales, I thought my daily tasks would involve updating the clients, but it turned out that they were looking for a more "administrative" person. Therefore, better read the job description clearly beforehand.

Background Check
Interview
1. Applied online through the company website.
2. Immediately reached out to the group head to discuss the internship.
3. Was passed down to a more junior employee who was handling the hiring process.
4. Scheduled an informational interview with them.
5. After the informational interview, I got a first round phone interview.
6. About a week after the phone interview, I went out to Dallas and have a SuperDay with the asset management team, structured finance team, portfolio management team, and underwriting team.
7. Received my offer about a week later.

Interview Questions
1. Walk us through your resume.
2. What is asset management?
3. Why is asset management important?
4. Why do you want to work for Invesco?
5. Why real estate?

The interview was very conversational and relaxed. There were no technical questions or exams. I had already spoken to them several times prior to my in person interviews, and the in person didn't seem like an interview.
My suggestion to a potential candidate would be to reach out personally to the group to try to build connections.
