Please describe the interview / hiring process.
The interview process began by having a conversation with the head of equity research operations about what my background, why I am interested in equity research, and other basic questions regarding my commitment to the industry. I was asked to pitch a company (only one company and only long), was asked to describe the internet to a person from the 1960s, and then some other behavioral based questions (how did you deal with a difficult problem in the past, etc.). I was asked to move on to the next round and I was given 2 projects to complete to determine my ability to analyze data and analyze a company. The projects were difficult but also provided me with a good gauge of my current skills/abilities and what I need to work on.
