Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied to the J-NOBLE Insight Day through Handshake on April 9th, 2023 and was invited to the session on April 27th. The Insight Day took place virtually on May 5th and lasted about 2 hours and 20 minutes, with members of the firm speaking about DEI, Jefferies, and the J-NOBLE Fellowship program. Following the insight day, we were asked to submit an interest form with an updated resume, which was due by May 8th. On May 10th, I was selected for a first round interview (likely based on a resume screen), with the email indicating that a representative from the firm would reach out to me. On May 30th, I followed up with the HR representative that sent me the first round invitation asking for updates, then 10 minutes later a VP in special situations reached out to schedule the interview. My interview took place on June 5th, and it was a one on one Zoom call with the VP, where he asked me basic behavioral questions. On June 15th, I was invited to the J-NOBLE Fellowship Superday, which took place a week later on June 22nd. The interviewers in my superday asked me zero technical questions, with the most technical question being "tell me about a piece of financial news you've been following." The rest were behavioral questions. I received my offer verbally via phone call on June 28th and received a formal written offer on June 30th. The offer included a sophomore summer rotational internship (through divisions like S&T, FI, IBD, corporate access, ER, etc.) and a junior summer internship (contingent on success during the sophomore summer internship). The deadline to sign was July 7th.
