Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Jefferies has a small S&T desk in Dallas, led by Michael Wharry. They were looking to bring on an eager undergraduate as they expand the desk. After they screened my resume, I was brought in for an on-site interview conducted by Michael and another sales associate. Questions were non-technical. Very personality based questions (favorite music, biggest weakness, name three qualities every team requires). Interview lasted about 45 minutes and was told I would hear back within a week, and I did not receieve the offer. Michael called via phone to inform me they were taking another student (who was a clients son). Seems like a great shop at a growing bank. I was told to expect long hours and that work would have to be earned. Previous analyst was transfered to NY office. I would also be expected to pass Series 7 and 63 shortly after hire date.
