General Interview Information
Interview Details
- Very conversational tone, covering the basics such as walk me through your resume and such. Interviewer really wanted to see if / how you developed relationships. There was a large emphasis on the culture at Jefferies, which was something I already know I wanted to be a part of. Interviewer described his team as very close and personal, often attending sports games together or getting drinks together casually.
After being passed on to the second round, I received an e-mail from HR to say I had been invited to the Superday and needed to book travel. They were very supportive of helping me to extend my stay in NYC (although I paid for the additional nights of course). I used this opportunity to network with my contacts in NYC, and especially from Jefferies.
Upon the actual Superday, interview was a 1 hour period consisting of 3 different interviews. The first of which was 1-1, the next two were 2-1. First interviewer was very cocky and came in trying to mess with my head by saying how none of his calls have been correct for the past two years. I just tried saying that maybe you're seeing something the market isn't and in time you will be correct. He flat out said no. Then started the interview. - Following two interviews were much more fun, a few technicals here and there but really focusing on your stock pitch or valuations.
I sadly did not receive an offer which I believe is due in large part to me messing up a technical that I knew in the first interview. I was very feverous since he kept badgering me and adding pressure.
