Summer Associate Intern

A member of HR contacted me to attend a dinner the night before the interviews a day prior. I went to a very nice restaurant with a large group of directors, managing directors, and a few recent grads who were there to be social with us. Dinner was very nice and got to know a lot of the people there. BIG MISTAKE - went in Khakis, Sport Coat, NO TIE, and scruff. Everyone else there was in a full suit and tie with noticeable razor burn. I clearly screwed up. Interviews went well and i got along very well with everyone, but clearly could not make up for the dress/shaving fo par.
