Investment Representative Intern

I heard about this company from one of my friends who was currently interning there over the school year. In January I decided to start working on finding an internship for my summer after sophomore year. My friend managed to send in my resume and within a couple of weeks I had an interview set up by the end of January through a couple of phone calls with the VP of Investments who was also the head of the internship program. Two junior representatives interviewed me when I came in. They asked me fairly typical questions revolving around activities on my resume and why I was interested in wealth management. They also asked me how my friends would describe me as well as my availability for the summer. My road to an interview was atypical because JP Turner has company seminars every week for prospective interns and employees to hand in their resumes. However, the interview itself was pretty straightforward with basic behavioral questions. Since this is a unpaid internship, I would say make sure to sound like you're interested or at least excited to learn more about the financial industry. Also with this internship, if you perform well/ stick with it for a while you can ask to branch off to different areas of JP Turner. I knew a few who went to the ibanking side there as well as the marketing department.
