Analyst

I was recruited on campus at USC. It was a bad hiring year for all of the banks and hiring was extra competitive. I received first round interviews at every bulge bracket bank and attended second round / super days at every bank except GS. I received 3 offers and accepted an analyst position at J.P. Morgan.
To prep for interviews I spent 1 month in the library mastering all of the technical aspects of the interview. The WSO and Vault guides were invaluable and I never received a question in an interview that I was not prepared for. Mastering the technical background for interviews is the absolute minimum required before stepping into an IB analyst interview. I found it beneficial to demonstrate early in the interview that I had a strong grasp of the technical fundamentals - or at least knew how to sound like I did - and then move the conversation toward recent deals that the bank I was interviewing with had done and my previous work experience, which included working at a small startup investment bank.
