Associate

Went to a JPMorgan Chase veterans recruiting event in Bethesda, Maryland. There were several companies there, but I was only interested in the bank. They handed out several pages of job descriptions, mostly in tech and ops but across all LOBs (IB, PB, TSS, etc). The descriptions were vague, so I picked out a few as best as possible and signed up for interviews. Interviewed with three people that day: a senior associate, a VP, and an HR manager. Over the course of the interviews we narrowed down to one listing, but the ED wasn't available. Had a phone interview with him the following week and received an offer the following day. Interview questions were cursory: talk me through your resume, tell me about yourself, etc. I've learned since that hiring standards in Ops are VERY LOW. So the interview is about personality and fit, not mental acuity.
