Credit Risk Analyst

I did the first round interview with JP Morgan a months ago for an analyst position in their London Office. It was a bit unconventional because we were invited to their office instead of the normal phone interview. There were two 30 minutes back-to back interviews; one with a VP and the other with an associate, both from the Credit Risk team. I would say commercial awareness and analytics are the key thing they are looking for. There were quite a bit of role play where you would get asked about how you would react given certain circumstances. These were to my surprise and caused me to struggle. The first interview was a bit trickier than the second one, which was mainly about your background and motivation, etc. Do get your story straight and do not panic when getting asked a few questions that you are not expecting. Structure your answer and explain your logic. I would say few people could give perfect answers, even the interviewer themselves. Overall the interview wasn't that difficult but my did poorly in the first interview with the VP, which eventually sank my chances.
