Please describe the interview / hiring process.
6 total interviews (including HireVue). None in person. Step by step below

1. Applied online mid-September
~2-day gap
2. HireVue shortly after with typical behavioral/background questions
~1-week gap
3. 1-on-1 introductory phone Interview with Executive Director of Team/Division. Consisted of basic intros and conversation. Asking about my background and skills, as well as my interest in the program. Much of the time was spent speaking to me about the program and position, as there is not much info online.
~3-week gap
4. I received an email informing me they would like to schedule me for two 45-minute interviews with members of the team. Due to travel, I needed to reschedule for one week later than when they had initially slotted me for, which they were extremely flexible with.
5. Each interview consisted of a skype interview with one team member. Each interview (including ones I will mention later) consisted of the same format. Introductions, resume overview, background, skills, questions for me, questions I had for them, and then a 20-30 minute discussion/case in order to gauge my analytical thinking skills and how I approached problems. While they say you do not need any background in programming or data, in order to work your way through the cases and understand what is going on, it is helpful to have a baseline of knowledge. Will expand on an example case below. Some, but not all interviews also asked me to go in-depth on applicable projects I had done.
~6-hour gap
6, Received an email informing me I would move onto a final round consisting of ~2hrs straight of video conferences, with two different interviewers. They were very flexible in scheduling, despite me being 3 time zones away.
7. The format of interviews was very similar to above, with a 15-minute break in the middle. The second/last interview was slightly disorganized, as my interviewer had not been briefed on my previous interviews, and was at first not aware that it was my final interview. He also had trouble laying out / setting up my case question. However, that was likely due to my having done the first 2 ones he attempted to set up, and he may have been less familiar with the last one. Of the 4 "cases" I had to do, I would say the last one was the one I struggled most with.
~6-hour gap
8. Later that night, I received an email informing me they had enjoyed the conversation and my offer letter would come in the following days.
