Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Prior to whole process I did not have any contacts whatsoever at JP Morgan. I first submitted the application online and about a week into December I received an email from JP Morgan asking when I would be available for a 30 minute phone interview. Two days later they called me at the time I had stated and we went through a normal interview. It pretty much started with introducing myself and walking the interviewer through my resume. I was asked what the valuation methods were and to briefly explain what a DCF is. The interviewer noticed I had written that trade my own stock portfolio and so I was asked many questions on what is going on in the global economy and what my thoughts were on it. I was given an opportunity to ask the interviewer a few questions before the interview ended. A week later I was emailed letting me know I was invited to a super-day in New York at the JP Morgan offices and I had 24 hours to accept it. At the super-day I first was joined by a group of about 12 other candidates for IBD and other divisions and we heard from a panel of current analysts and associates. The first half was fairly insignificant until we then moved on to the interview portion of the day. I was given three separate 30 minute interviews. Each one was with a VP and were all pretty much the same, same questions and procedure. I know it said a lot on the wso but I just want to emphasize how important it is to know your resume inside and out and to also be able to elaborate and go into extreme detail on what you have on there because chances are they will want you to.
