Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied to the process through a friend working as second year analyst. Interviews were exclusively 1 on 1 with at least 15 different people. During the first round interviews were made by analysts and were mostly technical. Second-round interviews were done by associates and they were even more technical (at this point the firm was considering recruting an intern among 10 candidates out of 300 initial applicants). Third-round interviews were conducted by VPs which focused deeply in your fit with the firm and IB culture. Finally the last round was with two MDs, who focused on assessing your interest on the firm.
