Investment Banking Summer Analyst

Applied through my campus career service (target school). A few days later, acquaintance hit me up and told me that they had consulted him about my resume. He was a military veteran, like me, and an alum from my school who worked in pub fin. I think he pushed hard for me to get a first-round.

Interview day: One on one with an ED in Corporate Banking (I applied for IB). Standard Questions. Mostly fit. Technical Qs revolved around what I thought about the markets and the effects of interest rate changes, tapering, etc. Easy stuff if you now anything about macro, markets, and WSJ. Overall good experience; thought I would get a second round offer but that didn't happen.
