Investment Banking Summer Analyst

I come from a non-target school, so the interview process was slightly more rigorous. I had initial phone interview with a second year analyst that consisted mostly of standard technical questions, with a few extension questions that are not found in the guides. After that, I had another phone interview with a first year associate who was in charge of recruiting. In this interview, there were some more background and behavioral questions, and the technical questions were in more of a case study format that required me to walk the interviewer through multiple forms of valuation for a mock company.

At the super-day, I had 3 interviews, and two "chats". The chats were with current analysts, and were used to test fit for the office. There were no interview questions, and I dint even talk about finance or investment banking in either of mine. For the interviews, I had one that was all technical, one that was mostly fit with a few macro econ questions, and another that was kind of a mix of econ, technical, and fit questions. Additionally, there was a lunch in the middle of the day where various members of the office sat and ate with the interviewees, and the interviewees had the opportunity to ask them questions.

Overall, I really loved every I met that throughout the process, and I believe that it would've been a great place to work. The office definitely seemed to have a collegiate atmosphere, and everyone seemed to like each other and get along.
