Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Applied online through company website. About 2 wks later I contacted a current employee to determine work culture and if a good word could be put in for me. Within a few days I was contacted by a branch manager and ended up having a pre-screening on the phone about past and current work experience. She then called me back a day later and invited me for an interview. Standard questions were asked about interest in company, what I bring to the table, etc. She was impressed and ready to move forward but decided to refer me to a different branch because I'm related to someone at her branch. The following day I received an email from HR in response to my application with the standard "we regret to inform..." so I thought I didn't get it. However, I then was contacted by the 2nd branch mgr about a wk later for another interview. So I assume the resume screener eliminated me, but I was granted an interview on the other side based on knowing someone. The 2nd interview consisted of more behavioral like what would you do if, how do you handle escaled problems, etc. Felt very good about it all and was told I would be asked back to "meet" the area mgr. Was even told my resume was impressive (contrary to the resume screener). Although I don't have direct experience in the position applied for, I do have a Finance degree plus industry experience in different roles. So, I knew I was qualified. It was just about of impressing the interviewer. out Anywa, about a week later I met with the area mgr and immediately felt uncomfortable. She asked many of the same questions I had already been asked but in a more condescending tone. When I left I no longer felt optimist, in spite of knowing I did well the first two.

Well turns out my intuition was correct. I never heard back from anyone after that. I tried calling the second branch mgr for follow up and ended up leaving a msg. Never got a call back, not even a rejection email. I would still recommend working for this company because I know overall they're reputable. However, I'm very dissappointed by how the process was handled in the end. I expected more professionalism.
