Phone Interview
1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Started with the online application, due sometime in November I believe. After a few weeks I received an email to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was 30 minutes. There was 2-3 technical questions, mostly focusing on macro-economic trends. After that we went through my resume, not too crazy.
About a week after that I got invited to NYC for the IS SuperDay. They paid for the flight and the hotel, stayed in the Lexington New York, right across the street from the 277 Park ave office. The SuperDay interviews consisted of 3, 30 minute one on one sessions. Talking to other candidates, they seemed to get lots of technical questions if, and only if, they highlighted that side of their resume. I go to a LAC and straight up told all three interviewers that I was pretty non-technical. They were all cool about it and essentially I just had chill conversations with an MD and two EDs.

General Advice:

If you've made it to the SuperDay they want you, they're just screening your personality at this point. Don't be a hyper-competitive sociopath, be chill. I cursed a few times, mentioned that I was a shitty kid in high school, drinking all the time, the more you can put them at ease the better. So many of the kids I saw were freaking out, reading modeling stuff on their phones before it started. Don't be a fucking math nerd, be brutally honest with them, they want to see cool kids coming in.
